In a leadership race that lasted longer than anyone expected due to COVID-19, 170 thousand members cast ballots and have chosen Erin O’Toole to lead the Conservative party. I want to introduce Erin to constituents since he is not yet a household name.
I have known Erin since being elected in October 2015 and have admired his hard work, family values, and his concern about issues affecting our constituency.
While he represents a suburban Toronto riding, addressing western alienation, largely caused by current Liberal government policies, is at the top Erin’s list of priorities. He is a staunch defender of the energy industry and advocates for more pipeline capacity while understanding the need for our party to have a solid, easily understandable environmental plan.
As a constituent of Calgary Signal Hill you will be hearing a lot more about Erin and Conservative policies over the next few months as we get ready for an election that could be called anytime.
Dear Constituents of Calgary Signal Hill,
My entire adult life I have tried to serve Canada and its people – in uniform, as a volunteer and as a Member of Parliament. I love this country, but I am very worried about the course Prime Minister Trudeau and his Liberal government have put us on.
From coast to coast, Canadians are losing their jobs, their homes and their hope. I know how many of you are more concerned about the future than ever before. I share your concerns and I am here to fight for you and your family.
Our Conservative team is a strong, diverse group that reflects Canada. But Canadians haven’t always seen themselves in our party. I’m going to change that.
In the coming weeks and months, our Conservative team, including your local Member of Parliament, Ron Liepert, will be working to put Canada on the right path and fulfill the vision I have of a stronger, prosperous and more united Canada.
I very much look forward to what the future brings.
